One of the standout features of Secrets Cap Cana is its exceptional dining experience. With nine restaurants offering a diverse array of cuisines, every meal felt like a new adventure. Whether you’re craving fresh seafood, authentic Mexican dishes, or gourmet French cuisine, the resort’s culinary offerings are sure to impress.
Dress Code:
Before we proceed, Secrets resorts do their best to maintain the high standards and elegance of their properties. While lunch has a much more relaxed vibe at the Market Buffet and outdoor restaurants like Seaside and Barefoot Grill, indoor dining will require a casual elegance dress code to include:
- Dress shoes, sneakers/tennis shoes
- Dress shirts with short or long sleeves
- Collared shirts, dresses, blouses
- Long pants for men for indoor seating
- Bermuda shorts or capri pants are acceptable for outdoor seating for dinner.
- Absolutely no sleeveless shirts, flip-flops for dinner restaurants
- For lunch dining, women must wear a bathing suit wrap or cover-up
Now, here’s a detailed look at the dining options that made our stay unforgettable. The menus are very hard to search for on the web, but we have provided links for you below so you can plan your trip accordingly.
Oceana: Fresh Seafood with a View
Located by the pool with stunning ocean views, Oceana is the perfect spot for a relaxed yet elegant dining experience. The menu focuses on fresh seafood and grilled specialties. Start your lunch with their Secrets tuna tartar with crispy capers, or the Crab cake. Then, we highly recommend the grilled octopus, the seafood soup, or the Grilled seafood platter with marlin, shrimp and more. For dessert, the Lemon merengue pie is a must-try.
Oceana also has plenty of vegetarian options such as Eggplant & potato salad, Breaded tofu in Thai coconut sauce, cucumber ceviche, and Zucchini cannelloni!

Rosewater: Preferred Club Exclusive

For breakfast, try the Chicken breast & eggs served with potatoes and chipotle sauce or the multitude of Toast options available with guac, smoked salmon, or serrano ham & arugula. The Dominican coffee is a must-try here.
The lunch menu features starters like shrimp in almond tempura & Thai sauce and gourmet dishes like roasted ribeye steak with truffle parmesan, and grilled octopus. Feeling a little brave? You can order a Tomahawk steak for an extra fee.

El Patio: A Taste of Mexico
For authentic Mexican flavors, El Patio is a must-visit. This restaurant celebrates the rich culinary traditions of Mexico, with dishes inspired by regions like Oaxaca and the Yucatán. Start with the shrimp aguachile (a zesty ceviche) or the Corn esquite (a delicious street corn treat). For the main course, the Baja (fish) or Governor tacos (shrimp and cheese) and the Sea bass are standout dishes. Don’t forget to pair your meal with a specialty margarita from the margarita cart!

Himitsu: Pan-Asian Delights
If you’re a fan of Asian cuisine, Himitsu will not disappoint. This restaurant offers a mix of Japanese, Thai, and Vietnamese dishes, including sushi, ramen, and wok-fried specialties. The gyozas and pork ramen were our favorites, and the tempura ice cream was the perfect way to end the meal. The Tuna or Chicken poke bowls were also a great option. For a unique experience, book the Teppanyaki table, where skilled chefs prepare your meal with flair and entertainment.

Bordeaux: French Elegance
For a touch of sophistication, Bordeaux offers classic French cuisine in an elegant setting. The meal begins with a cheese and bread cart, followed by the Ardennes salad made with house-made duck breast confit or the foie gras. The Filet de Boeuf with port sauce was incredible. The crème brûlée and the Far Breton (a flan base with candied plums!) are the perfect sweet ending to your meal. Click here for the full menu!

Seaside Grill: Casual Beachside Dining
Overlooking the beach, Seaside Grill is perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner. The menu features fresh seafood, burgers, and salads. For lunch, we loved the fish tacos and the tuna tartare with watermelon. The Tex Mex burger with pico de gallo was excellent. For dinner, the lentil & chorizo soup was unique and the Grilled Table for 2 included a ton of grilled favorites. Ask for the different sauces/salsas and pick your favorite. All grilled meats are served with charcoal-grilled veggies, beans, roasted potatoes or corn on the cob. And finally, for dessert, the cinnamon cheesecake with passion fruit pulp was unforgettable.

Portofino: Italian Classics
Portofino brings the flavors of Italy to the Caribbean. The menu includes classics like Sicilian bruschetta, traditional minestrone, vegetable lasagna, mushroom risotto with beef broth, and chicken alla parmigiana. What’s unique at this Portofino is that you can also create your own pasta dish with your choice of pastas and sauces (including arrabiata and carbonara) for a personalized experience. And of course, don’t miss their famous Grandma’s Cake for dessert, served with almond cream and candied lemon/vanilla ice cream.

Barefoot Grill: Poolside Bites
For a quick snack or lunch by the pool or beach, Barefoot Grill is the go-to spot. The menu includes favorites like beef nachos, chicken wings, and wood-fired pizza. For a healthier option, we went with the chickpea hummus with crudites. The roasted red snapper with grilled vegetables was a standout dish but you’ll have to be in good with your beach server

Market Café: International Buffet
For breakfast and lunch, Market Café offers a wide variety of international dishes in a buffet format. The made-to-order omelets and fresh juices are perfect for starting your day, while the lunch spread includes everything from grilled meats to fresh salads.

The Smoothie Station
Tucked away near the Preferred Club area of the resort you’ll find some delicious and fresh made smoothies will all sorts of tropical fruits and veggies. Rehydrate mid-day with these delicious treats!
Coco Café: Sweet Treats and Coffee
Open 24 hours, Coco Café is the perfect spot for a coffee break or a sweet treat. The Snickers dessert (a chocolate bar with layers of caramel and nuts) and the pistachio dessert were our favorites.

Room Service: Dining in Comfort

The Rendezvous Lobby Bar is the heart of the resort’s nightlife. With live music, a wide selection of top-shelf spirits, and expertly crafted cocktails, it’s the perfect place to unwind after dinner. We loved the Old Fashioned and the Dominican Mamajuana (careful, it’s strong!) Rendezvous hosts special events like Carnaval type parades with costumes on some evenings. It’s a lot of fun!
Sugar Reef Pool & Beach Bar
For a more relaxed vibe, head to the Sugar Reef Pool & Beach Bar. This outdoor bar serves refreshing cocktails (including frozen ones), making it the perfect spot to cool off during the day.
Manatees Swim-Up Bar
If you’re looking for fun, the Manatees Swim-Up Bar is the place to be. Located in the main pool, this bar offers a lively atmosphere and a great selection of frozen drinks. From frozen cocktails like Van Halen (Bacardy gold rum, pineapple juice, amaretto liqueur, Barcelo imperial rum) and Abba (Vodka, peach néctar, mango néctar, orange juice, grenadine). Or ask for their specialty drinks like Caribbean Sunset (Melon liqueur, white rum, lemon juice, pineapple juice, ice) or the Sea Breeze (Sour mix, vodka, white wine and sprite). Open 7:00am to 11:00pm for Preferred Club guests only, the Preferred Club Lounge Bar offers a more exclusive experience. With premium spirits and a tranquil atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a quiet drink. Butler Service: Our butler, Darling (male), was exceptional. He anticipated our every need, from making dinner reservations to arranging a romantic beach dinner. Beach and Pool Staff: The beach and pool staff were equally amazing. Maria and Esperanza on the preferred beach provided impeccable service, ensuring we always had a cold drink in hand.

Secrets Cap Cana features multiple pools, including an infinity pool, a social pool, and a secluded quiet pool. Our favorite was the Preferred Club pool, which offered a tranquil atmosphere and attentive service. The beach is equally stunning, with soft white sand and crystal-clear waters. The ocean floor is soft and smooth and the beach was perfect for long walks and breathtaking sunsets.

The Secrets Spa by Pevonia is a mustvisit. We indulged in a couples’ massage and the hydrotherapy circuit, which included a sauna, steam room, and water journey. It was the ultimate relaxation experience! Here’s a price list of services available!
