Secrets Moxche Resort is an all-inclusive luxury resort situated in the beautiful Riviera Maya, Mexico. Life Goal Travel Tips: 

• Use the in-room tablet to order room service or request in-room amenities.  Your breakfast can be scheduled for your precise wake up time and can be left in your Secrets Box or set up in your room. 
• Download the Hyatt Inclusive Collection app to request room amenities and maintenance, find events and live music, and more importantly, to book you restaurant reservations as soon as you check in.  This includes the Teppanyaki table reservations!  Download here for Apple or download here for Android. 
• Ask your concierge or waitstaff about the secret speakeasy hidden behind the pharmacy shelves!  It’s a great disco/club with an energetic DJ and full bar service & seating.  So much fun!  It’s a small venue so you’ll probably need to line up early.  We were actually there for its inauguration night on Halloween 2022.  If you have the chance to visit during Halloween, they had a costume contest and gave away free nights! 
• Men:  bring long pants and nice shoes for dinner.  Most restaurants have a strict dress code about long pants.  Think of it as date night the entire week with your significant other. 

• The Cadillac Margarita — not on the drink menu, but it’s their nickname for the Mexican classic cocktail made with top shelf tequila, fresh squeezed limes, and Grand Marnier.  Don’t want all those sugar calories?  Ask them to sweeten it with Splenda instead of simple syrup.  Carry your own artificial sweetener everywhere if that’s important for you. 
• If you have a Preferred Club room, make sure to have breakfast in the Observatory and while you’re there, grab a lounge chair and enjoy the view for a few hours.  Remember to bring your room card to access the elevator from the lobby to the Observatory. 
• Be aware that mimosas are served AFTER 10am throughout the resort.  Sorry, house rules (and probably city ordinance). 
• Bring your watershoes.  The beach can be a bit rocky in some areas with large boulders looking to stub a toe. 
• Bring an insulated cup or mug for beach time & pool time.  Ice melts quickly here & it waters down your drink experience. 
• Need a massage but don’t want to break the bank?  Feel comfortable getting a beachside massage just a 10-minute walk (left) for as little as $30.   Massage vendors will stand by the beach with the sign and will provide all the info you need. 
• Plan your day and avoid looking for a meal between 11am and 12pm.  The Market Buffet closes during that hour and you’ll be limited to the Coco Cafe and pool restaurants.

Restaurants 

The resort has an astonishing 11 restaurants that offer different types of cuisine. All of the restaurants use fresh local ingredients to prepare their dishes, ensuring guests have a real taste of Mexico. The menus are well-crafted, and each dish is prepared with great attention to detail. Among the restaurants, the French restaurant is highly acclaimed, offering an ala carte dining experience that is hard to match.   

Dress Code:

Before we proceed, Secrets resorts do their best to maintain the high standards and elegance of their properties.  While lunch has a much more relaxed vibe at the Market Buffet and outdoor restaurants like Seaside and Barefoot Grill, indoor dining will require a casual elegance dress code to include:

• Dress shoes, sneakers/tennis shoes
• Dress shirts with short or long sleeves
• Collared shirts, dresses, blouses
• Long pants for men for indoor seating
• Bermuda shorts or capri pants are acceptable for outdoor seating for dinner.
• Absolutely no sleeveless shirts, flip-flops for dinner restaurants
• For lunch dining, women must wear a bathing suit wrap or cover-up

Now, here’s a detailed look at the dining options that made our stay unforgettable.  The menus are very hard to search for on the web, but we have provided links for you below so you can plan your trip accordingly.  

Seasoul

The Seasoul restaurant offers some of the best seafood in the area in an AMAZING outdoor seating environment. Grilled fish, tacos, ceviche and shrimp cocktail are their specialty.  At night, it features Mediterranean cuisine including baba ganoush and kebabs.

Market Cafe

For those looking for a more relaxed dining option, the Market Cafe offers an international buffet with Mexican, Asian and South American selections.  It is open 7am to 4pm with a 1 hr pause between 11am and 12pm. 

Barefoot Grill

The Barefoot Grill provides guests with a lighter option of grilled food on the beach.  The Mexican hotdogs and whole grilled fish are SUPERB, but they have other options including the standard buffalo wings, burgers and pizza.  Best part is you can wear flip-flops, sleeveless t-shirts, and swimwear at this location unlike all other restaurants. Expect a 10 minute wait at this counter service restaurant. 

Ember

Simply put, Ember Fire Kitchen specializes in fire cuisine.  From wood oven oysters (see photo) to roasted bone marrow, to grilled octopus and Wagyu ribeye, Ember is a grill master’s delight. Leave some room for the baked Alaska.

Dos Almas

Dos Almas is the Mexican restaurant serving regional selections and traditional Mexican dishes.  There is a vegan & vegetarian menu with almond mole, cactus salad, a few other options.  Sit for a while at the entrance bar and ask your bartender for a quick lesson on the different mezcales and regional spirits.  To our utmost delight, our bartender even gave us some quick lessons in Mayan language and made us privy to life as a Mayan in Yucatan. 

bisou

You’ll fall in love with Bisou, the French restaurant, after trying the escargot, endive salad, filet de boeuf, and of course the piece de resistance: the creme brulee.

bamboo

Bamboo is situated on the beautiful Moxche lagoon and serves Asian cuisine along with signature cocktails at its own bar.  Live music plays most evenings and you can enjoy it at your table, the bar, or on their comfy poolside lounge chairs (see image).

Allora

Allora is Secrets Moxche’s signature Italian restaurant featuring homemade pastas, delectable antipasti, zucchini with basil soup, eggplant Parmesan, risotto and more.

suki

Suki is the resort’s Japanese restaurant serving Nippon cuisine and sake cocktails in an elegant setting.  You’ll find traditional dishes including tempura shrimp, sashimi and tuna tartare as well as different ramen selections.

The Preferred Club Observatory

The Observatory:  Aside from the incredible, panoramic view of the Caribbean, this breakfast and lunch restaurant also serves cocktails between 10am and 6pm daily.  Preferred Club room access is required. We highly recommend the tuna tiradito and the Vietnamese spring rolls with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc mid-afternoon.

Coco Cafe

The Coco Cafe baristas serve amazing coffee, frappes, lattes and espressos with all types of milks and milk alternatives 24/7 as well as light sandwich options, pastries and sweets. 

Bars & Lounges 

Secrets Moxche resort has 7 bars and lounges, each with its unique atmosphere, design, and unlimited top-shelf drinks policy.  The Moxche Lobby Bar is an excellent place to enjoy a beer or a cocktail while enjoying the resort’s ambiance.  This should be your first stop after check-in.  Grab a drink and enjoy the panoramic view from the lobby bench.  The Cove Bar is nestled in the lagoon pool and serves amazing tropical cocktails.  The Sugar Reef Pool Bar serves refreshing drinks and snacks for guests in the smaller, quieter pool, while the Mantarray Swim-up bar is caters to the high-activity main pool guests and is perfect for those who want to avoid leaving the pool scene.  Dark Horse sports bar is an excellent place to catch up with the latest sporting events and nightly DJ and even has foosball, pool tables, and a golf simulator on the 2nd floor. The Preferred Club Observatory is exclusive to guests staying in Preferred Club rooms and suites, offering an amazing panoramic view for breakfast and lunch with personalized attention from the staff.

And finally, make sure to visit the Gypsy Club, the resort’s speakeasy hidden BEHIND the pharmacy displays (see photo).  Some nights have live music and others an energetic DJ complemented by the high-energy resort activity crew.  The Gypsy Club & pharmacy are located just a few steps away from Bisou, the French restaurant. 

Hotel Amenities 

The resort provides countless activities, ensuring each guest has a fun-filled day. Secrets Moxche has a large lagoon pool with sandy shore located in the center, a high-octane activity main pool with swim up bar and live music, and many other quieter pools and water features for a more relaxing day.
